Editorial Standards

These standards explain how Stitchvani aims to keep sewing guidance clear, transparent and useful.

Last updated October 9, 2026

1. Scope and labelling

Stitchvani distinguishes project ideas, pattern previews, educational guides, and complete downloadable pattern files. A preview should not be described as a complete pattern unless the stated files and instructions are actually available.

2. Plain-language editing

Guides prioritize the practical decision a reader needs to make: paper format, print scale, fabric type, experience level, measurements, tools, or construction sequence. Specialist terms should be explained when they are necessary.

3. Estimates and individual variation

Sewing time, difficulty, fabric requirements, and fit can vary. Estimates should be identified as estimates and accompanied by relevant assumptions where practical.

4. Technical references

Paper dimensions, printer settings, equipment instructions, and safety information should be checked against appropriate manufacturer or standards information when a precise technical claim is made. General project inspiration should not be presented as professional certification.

5. Corrections

Clear factual, accessibility, safety, or technical corrections are prioritized. Minor wording and design changes may be made without a public notice. Material corrections may be reflected in the page update date or a visible note.

6. Commercial relationships

If a page includes sponsorship, affiliate links, gifted products, or another material relationship, it should be disclosed clearly near the relevant content. The current static site does not contain paid product placements.

7. Suggest a correction

Email support@stitchvani.com with the page URL, disputed text, suggested correction, and supporting source when available.
